NSW Deputy Liberal Leader Stuart Ayres appears to have given false evidence to ICAC inquiry about his July 2016 visit to a Wagga Wagga gun club, that subsequently received a $5.5m grant.

The fund used to make the $5.5 million Wagga Wagga gun club grant was only created - by Dominic Perrottet as NSW Treasurer - months before Perrottet personally approved it.

The $5.5 million grant to fund a 1000-person convention centre at a gun club in Wagga Wagga was the only one - of over 90 grants - in the NSW Murray-Riverina region that went to a non-government entity.
